someone lit a window for you
This is a building. Nobody is quite sure what it's for. Anyone can light a window for free and it glows for 12 hours from the last time they visit. For £2 the building keeps a window lit forever with your words on it; for £3 a window you choose exactly where it goes, so people draw things. When the top floor is nearly full, a new floor appears. The penthouse at the top goes to the highest bidder — outbid them and it is yours until someone outbids you. Somewhere there is a red window.
Every window has a link. Send it to someone. That's the whole idea.
The building stores a random cookie so it knows which window is yours, your country (from the network, not your location), and the words you choose to leave on a window, which are public. Payments are handled by Stripe; the building never sees your card. Nothing is sold to anyone.
Throw a party, call your helicopter to the roof (it waits until you dispatch it, up to half an hour), or top up your bid so nobody can take it off you.
The building keeps a log. Something happens every half hour or so, whether anyone is watching or not.
You missed a few things.
